Allied Support Group

Public Education Initiatives

  • Allied Support Group Section on the
Gynecologic Cancer Foundation's Web site (www.thegcf.org)

The Allied Support Group Section on the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation's Web site (www.thegcf.org) has been designed to provide a centralized listing of all Allied Support Group member organizations, their missions and programs. The section is now accessible by the public and provides descriptions of Allied Support Group initiatives.
  • State Specific Versions of GCF's Maintain Your Gynecologic Health Brochure
The GCF's Maintain Your Gynecologic Health was designed to educate women about how reproductive cancers are diagnosed and treated and the symptoms associated with the diseases. The brochure encourages women to log onto the Women's Cancer Network Web site to assess their risk for gynecologic cancer by using our interactive risk assessment tool. The brochure is available in both English and in Spanish. The brochure will be produced with state specific resource information.
  • PowerPoint and Slide Presentations on Gynecologic Health
GCF's existing ovarian cancer and cervical cancer educational presentations for the lay public will be supplemented with additional information to create a general Gynecologic Cancer Educational Presentation Library. The educational presentations are designed to be used by medical professionals to educate women on maintaining their gynecologic health.
  • DVD Presentation on Gynecologic Health
An educational DVD presentation with general information on gynecologic health will be produced and distributed in communities across the country.
  • Telephone Educational Courses
The Allied Support Group will offer free telephone educational courses on a variety of gynecologic cancer subjects. The courses will be taught by leading gynecologic cancer experts and with time allowed for audience participation. Topics range from general subject overviews to more specific areas of interest.
