Gynecologic Cancer Foundation's
Allied Support Group

Improving Cancer Education, Access and Quality of Care for Underserved Populations Initiatives

  • "Town Hall" Meeting Series
The Allied Support Group will host several "Town Hall" meetings in medically underserved communities to educate women on the symptoms, risk factors and prevention of gynecologic and breast cancers. The "Town Hall" meetings will be designed to address language barriers and cultural sensitivities and will be highly interactive.
  • Clearinghouse on Gynecologic Cancers and Underserved Populations
The Allied Support Group will create a clearinghouse for information on gynecologic cancers and underserved populations. The clearinghouse will bring together information on gynecologic cancers and the underserved in a central location. It will be accessible to medical professionals and to the public. The clearinghouse will contain information on disparities in care and programs that are designed to understand and eliminate them.
  • Forum on Disparities in Access and Quality of Cancer Care in Underserved Populations
The Allied Support Group plans to bring together experts on gynecologic cancers, organizations and individuals representing underserved populations, underserved women and their supporters, experts on healthcare access and quality disparities and others interested or touched by disparities in quality and access in care for underserved populations for a forum that encourages scholarship around these issues.
